The numbers
Two-ply nano-ceramic film, metal-free. Keeps a lot of heat out even in the lighter shades.
At a similar shade, IR Extreme 28 (VLT 29%) keeps out 62% of the sun's energy: 5 points more.
The law
Film in any shade is allowed, as long as the car has a right-hand door mirror.
No dark film. The windshield must let through at least 75% of the light and the front side windows 70%. An anti-glare strip up to 10 cm deep is allowed along the top of the windshield.
Certified film only, with a label and an installer's certificate that stays in the vehicle. No mirror-type films with reflectance above 25%.
Fine: €30 and the driving licence withdrawn for 10 days (offence category E1-B).

For installers

Spray solution and run the scraper over the whole glass. Every speck of dust shows under the film.
Lay the film on the outside of the glass, liner facing out, and cut it to the outline of the window.
On curved glass such as the rear windshield, heat the film so it takes the shape of the glass.
Peel off the liner while spraying the adhesive. With plenty of solution the film slides easily.
Place the film on the inside of the glass and squeegee from the centre out to the edges.
Wipe the edges dry. Keep the window up for the number of days the product guide gives.
Wash, clay bar and isopropyl alcohol. The adhesive needs paint free of wax and silicone.
